It’s incredible! Our album devoted to the First Book of Madrigals for Five Voices by Pomponio Nenna has won the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik!!! This is possibly the greatest distinction in Europe for an audio recording…!
In the Alte Musik category we were chosen among a long list of artists, some of them very well known. It is an honour, a huge stroke of luck to see our work rewarded in this way.
The jury is made up of Germans, Austrians and Swiss. As stated on their website, the assessment criteria are: artistic quality, the interest of the repertoire, the presentation, and the technical quality of the sound. Thanks again to the Belgian label Ricercar/Outhere Music for trusting us!

Here is the text accompanying this award, by Bettina Winkler:
“Pomponio Nenna today mostly stands in the shadow of his contemporary and colleague Carlo Gesualdo. The two influenced one another in matters of text setting, dissonance and chromatic modulation. The ensemble Comet Musicke, known for its intensive research work, has recorded the First Book of Madrigals for Five Voices by Nenna (published in 1582), thereby clearing the way for the rediscovery of this Italian Renaissance composer. The congenial, stylistically assured interpretation, with its expressive sound, is immediately captivating: listening becomes a true delight!”
And to close this subject, here is the magnificent Certificate issued by the institution:
